The wait is over!
But...I really have nothing to say. No real epiphany to impart.
Long time, no blog! We've been busy in the sunshine. Busy with a birthday party, preschool, Easter eggs hunts and spring break. We've been busy having fun, smiling, romping on the freshly cut lawn. Busy and happy and a little tan, too.
Spring! At last it is here. We purposely left our Spring Break week WIDE OPEN. After surgery and chaos, I thought it would be nice to have a "stay"cation. You know, stay home and play with our toys, go to the zoo, that kind of stuff. We awoke early on the first day of Spring Break and checked the forecast for the week. "Rain turning to snow?" Hadley cried. Really. Big tears.
Okay, kids, pack your bags. We're leaving. Where? Who cares. Somewhere that doesn't have rain turning to snow. We packed. We loaded. We drove. We drove and drove and halfway there called Rachel. "Hi. Um...we're coming to your house. I hope that's okay." My cousin, aka SuperMom, shuffled her kids around and made space for me and my three in her beautiful San Diego Sunshine and we spent a week basking in it. And oh, did we bask! We had way too much fun.
"My allergies aren't bad in California," Hadley said hopefully to her dad. "Maybe we can move there." No such luck, though. We're back. We brought some sunshine and blossoms with us, though. My tulips are blooming and life is beautiful.
Sorry if you missed me. I'm back and better now that I've had some sunshine and a vacation. So much for that stay-cation. Now, I promise, if I think of anything even remotely worthy of blogging, I shall blog. Way too long without a post, right?
Thanks again, Rachel and family. We loved it!

I love that you just packed your bags and left...did you also get to pack your husband? Or was he surprised to come home to an empty house? ha ha ha. Bless your cousin. It's great to be able to call someone and say you'll be there in a few hours and stay a few days...of course, I've never done this...but maybe I will sometime.
Please do...there's room in my basment! And no, I did not pack my husband. He came home to a note on the counter to move the whites to the dryer and to remember to feed the dog. He did, however, buy a one way ticket and spent the weekend with us and helped me on the way home. I had to emphasize that I was okay by myself and I did NOT need to be rescued but it was nice to have him!
FUN!
That sounds Heavenly. I feel like it's been raining in NC for the past 18 months. I'm ready for some sunshine! Not necessarily the accompanying heat though. :P
It's good to hear from you again. I feel like we're all geese heading South for the spring. There's only so much snow and cold a person can take, right? But I would have rather gone to San Diego. I'm glad you guys had fun and I'm glad there haven't been any more tragedies in your life - I was starting to wonder.
Actually, there were some of us who were wondering, checking, pacing! Funny, because Kathy Peacock & I were just talking about you today after we did sealings and wondering how you were holding up after surgery, etc. I felt stupid because even after seeing you for a night, didn't ask about Hadley's recovery, etc. You're so smart to head out of here... we vaycayed weeks before, then DID have a staycation, and the snow was infuriating! But lots of bonding with fireplace burning, and sledding. (!?!?!)
Snow for spring break?!? I would have left, too. What a fun, spontaneous, thing to do.
