Sunny Side Up

I'm not complaining or anything, but...

It was snowing on Friday. Not a little snow. Big blizzardy flurrying flakes.

But then, on Saturday, it all was worth it. Hadley and I went to Park City and had a glorious time in the sunshine skiing on that fresh snow. My brave girl went down a double blue run without falling once. Silver Queen...that's the name of the run. I opted for the tamer hill and waited at the bottom to watch her triumphant arrival. Proud! And doesn't that just make it worth it? And isn't that the way life is sometimes?

Just when you think you can't take your two year old for one more second, he plants a slobbery, sticky, syrupy kiss on your cheek and it's all worth it.

And just when you are ready to pull your hair out over the mud in your yard, and by default, on your boys, the landscaper shows up with his trucks and his men and his curbing machine and you think to yourself...I think I've made it. I think another winter has ended.

Today I am thankful for the pending sea of green grass, sunny days skiing, slobbery kisses and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (that's why I'm in here typing alone right now). What are you thankful for?

Preschool... :) It's just enough time for me to miss my Charlie and arrive a fresh, rejuvenated mommy.

Little moments during the day when I look at my kids, full of love, and think, "this is what it's all about.'

Good hubby.

Great kids.

Those tender mercies, like the landscaper showing up at just the right moment... I can feel your relief, and I know I've been at that moment before, but I can't remember specifics. Like someone took you from the end of your rope and showed you the ground beneath your feet.

Here, here! I can't wait for the end of winter. I just want to be hot for once! And I think I would die without the Disney Channel and DVR.
